In today's day, social media is a big thing society deals with on a daily basis. There are so many social media sites nowadays that there is not one place people don't go to for entertainment. People don'y seem to realize that social media is also a very dangerous place for teens and adults. Most of the problems deal with bullying; teens have their faces glued into the bright and shiny screen that holds all things that are important to them, and it's like they'll never miss a post, a like, a comment, a share, even an attack.
We think it's safe to bully people from behind a screen because no one is going to make an effort to stop you in your hatred to another. If anyone ever gets the chance to take time away from social media, look up a famous quote preached by Martin Luther King Jr. which states: "Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that". Many people won't understand the meaning of this quote because they don't feel from inside the heart.
The famous quote made by M.L.K stands for many things--one being that if we continue to push people away into the darkness that only hides them; their fear, and their despair we won't be able to stop. If we continue to show only our anger and hatred to people, they'll never be able to find that tiny speck of light where maybe one day, they will have the hope and the courage to come out and express their love and overpower the people who don't know how to love.
The world could have so much more of what people want--peace, equality, love, and kindness-- but, we cannot because people continue to bring out more of the problems that go on rather than thinking about what we may do to put it all to a stop. People are afraid to come out and be themselves, love themselves, and be able to love others no matter how they look and who they are.
Socialization isn't only meant to be done through the screen of an electronic device, but through people. Go out and make an effort to cooperate with someone without using one hateful word because it seems many people nowadays aren't able to do so.
