When I was in 9th grade, I vividly remember the few upperclassmen friends that I had say things something along the lines of “make the best of it while it lasts” or “high school will go by in a blink of an eye.” I never really believed what they said at that time because 9th grade felt like it was a lifetime long, and now being a senior in my few final months of high school, 9th grade now feels the it was a lifetime ago.
School is a place filled with learning, and I can truly say that I've learned a lot in these past four years. Whether it has been about the Cold War, or about myself. I've learned that friends come and go and that break up you had with your boyfriend or girlfriend isn't the end of the world. I've learned that a lot can change about yourself, and I've also come to realize that change isn't always a bad thing; however, it does have the power to make or break you.
Acknowledge the fact that your education plays a key role in your success. You shouldn't take school too seriously but keep in mind that the choices you make now will determine where you’ll end up in the future. You should never settle for less than what you believe you can accomplish.
To wrap things up, yes, there will be good days and there will be bad days, and yes sometimes things may fail, but always remember to learn from your mistakes. Make sure you make the best of high school. It's supposed to be some of the best years in your life. My advice to you--don't take this time for granted; make the best of it because high school will truly go by in a blink of an eye.
