Being a senior this school year is a bittersweet moment for me. Realizing that in only four more months I will be known as a high school graduate from Greater Johnstown Senior High School is exciting to me but also upsetting. Many of my friends are excited to leave school but not because they are excited for their future, they are just excited to finally get out. That is not my case.
I am excited and ready to get out into the real world and explore what adulthood is like, but there is a part of me that looks back and makes me think to my elf that the last 13 years of my life was dedicated to school. Although I am furthering my education, I will never get to redo these years. If I were able to go back and change some decisions I have made during high school, I probably would, but those little decisions that I made in that point in time made me who I am today, and I wouldn't want that to change one bit.
For all four years of my high school career I can honestly say that I enjoyed myself. Some courses that I took were not the easiest and some days were not the best, but I knew that I had to push myself for me to be able to be successful in the end. Freshman year was pretty rough for me because I was not able to focus as much as I should have but I most definitely improved in the years following. I have many friends who already graduated high school which makes me excited for the world outside of here but also nervous. I know that if I stay focused and have goals for myself that I will be successful in life and it won'be a bad experience for me.
While being in high school, I have learned so much and I am not just talking about a specific subject, I also learned life lessons that I will always remember throughout the years. I believe that the teachers put all they can into each student to help them be successful in their academic careers and also in their personal life, as well.
I have been attending the Greater Johnstown School District ever since I was in preschool and I will never forget where I came from and where I received the best education. In four months when I am walking to receive my diploma, I will be sure to thank everyone who pushed me to get where I will be. When I graduate from college, I will be sure to remember what school prepared me for this accomplishment--GJSD. These accomplishments are only the beginning of a great life ahead of me.
