The fact that Twitter discontinues the mobile app– Vine reminds us that nothing lasts forever. Since 2013, millions of people have turned to Vine to laugh at loops and see creativity unfold. Vine has created many famous comedians, musicians, artists and even amateur directors from all over the world to reveal their sense of humor or talent in a six-second-loop video.
Motherboard called Vine's shut down a “potentially devastating blow to the meme economy.” Rus, one of the co-founders who sold the app to Twitter, chimed in and tweeted “Don't sell your company!”
Twitter’s struggle isn't the only social media franchise that is having financial problems; it completely threw its problems onto the Vine app created by Twitter itself. Despite being beloved by a loyal community of millions, Vine wasn't able to keep up with competitors for lasting success.
There's good news though; you will never forget all of the vines that uplifted your frown or bettered your days, the Medium Post says. “Nothing is happening to the apps, website or your Vines today. We value you, your Vines, and are not going to do this right way.” There will be a mobile app to access your favorite vines.
This thoughtful consideration goes out to all Vine fans across the globe that got this beloved service torn away from our fingertips; however, Seth Fiegerman of CNN Money online forebodes,“Today it's Vine. One day, it could be Twitter."
