One teacher at Greater Johnstown High School is looking forward to giving back to some important causes this year. Mr. Kiser has fundraised money to give to the Make A Wish foundation, a cause that is extremely close to his heart.
Mr. Kiser’s daughter, Miranda Kiser, was granted a wish to go to Paris this past summer. It was Miranda’s wish to go to Paris for so long and Make A Wish was able to grant her with that.
“I will forever be grateful to Make A Wish for that. They gave us an experience that we would have not been able to afford on our own,” Mr. Kiser said.
Mr. Kiser and his family along with a couple Make A Wish recipients and potential recipients went to a basketball game on January 6th,to present a $2,571.00 check to the Make A Wish foundation. Caitlyn Marlowe, a potential Make A Wish recipient and a sophomore at Greater Johnstown High School, gave a speech thanking the foundation. Make A Wish recipients and sophomores at Johnstown High School, Riley Allen, Roman Arcurio, and Miranda Kiser presented the check.
When asked about future fundraisers Mr. Kiser said he would like to do something for the Ronald McDonald House.
“Nothing is confirmed or planned out yet, but I would definitely like to do something for the Ronald McDonald House,” Kiser said.
Mr. Kiser and the students involved in the fundraiser are proud to give back to this foundation and are grateful to Make A Wish for all that they do.
