Dear ex-best friend,
How’s life been without me? You never told me why you decided you didn’t want me in your life anymore. I can only hope that it increased your happiness in the world. Maybe by now you’ve found someone to take my place as your hand to hold, shoulder to cry on, and keeper of all secrets. Whoever that may be, I’m hoping that they help you get farther in life. You deserve success, and you deserve to be the most joyful you possibly can be. Regardless of why it happened, you hurt me when you left. You stabbed me in the back just because you had the ability to. You’ve turned into a person that gets their power from others’ weakness. Just one day, please, find the person I saw in you. The person with a heart of gold, the one who couldn’t stand other people to suffer, the person who would give up their last bit of food for someone else not to starve. That’s the person who deserves joy. Maybe it’s because you’re a teenager going through a phase that I skipped, but you’ve been so hateful toward everything lately. Then again, I haven’t seen you for almost three months now. It’s like you were never my best friend. Actually, you seem to have turned into someone that I never knew existed. If you ever decide you want to come back to me, I’m sorry, but you won’t be let back into my life. You never can decide if you want to be a good or a bad person anymore, and I can’t risk me and the people I love being hurt because you decided to change again and morph into some hateful being. Just know that I’ll always support, love, and miss the you I used to know. The one who was there for me when I needed it, and the one who was always true to yourself.
I used to miss you, but not anymore,
Your ex-best friend.
