Within the past few weeks, the boy's and girl's soccer season has begun, and Coach Waymond and Coach Arit are incredibly proud of their teams and how far they have come this early in the season.
The girl's soccer season is off to a great start, with Coach Waymond stating that the girls are getting much better daily. Along with them getting significantly better each passing week, Waymond stated that he is working for each player to get a single percent better with each practice.
Meanwhile, the captains of the girl's team, Kelyn Garreltss, and Joey Long, are working extremely hard to improve their own skills along with their team's skills and overall camaraderie.
The current lineup of the girl's soccer team, in coach Waymond's words, "has the potential and talent to play in the state tournament; it's just a matter of whether we take advantage of our opportunities when presented, but the players are ready for the moments."
Waymond also believes that this specific group has been fun to work alongside. The entire team strives for success but takes no shortcuts and gains skill the right way.
Along with the girl's soccer season, the boy's soccer team is off to a phenomenal start. Coach Arlt believes that they have done great so far and can get even better before the season's end.
Arlt also stated that this current team has more than enough potential to go to state so long as they are not satisfied until they reach their goals. Arlt believes that as long as his players can commit to improving every single day, then this season will be a win for the Discoverers boy's soccer team.
Clearly, both soccer teams are off to a fantastic start and still have time and room for improvement before the tribulation of the state playoffs.
