(USE PHOTO) Congratulations to the Mountaineer Robotics Team for an outstanding performance on Saturday the PA State Robotics Championship Tournament! First off, the Mounts won the State Sportsmanship Award. Out of 72 teams, the judges felt the Ephrata displayed the best qualities the make a quality competitor. Secondly, the team finished the 8 rounds of qualifying matches with a record of 6-2 and were ranked 8th. That moved them into the bracket of 16 where they decisively won their first match and they advanced into the quarter finals. Unfortunately, they were then eliminated by the team that would eventually be the state runner-up. In addition to the fine match record, they also competed in the robotics skills challenges where they finished 9th in the state. This makes them first alternate for the state of Pennsylvania to be invited to the World Championships to be held in Dallas at the end of April. They are keeping their fingers crossed! They are also ranked 202 out of 4649 teams in the United States! The team members who made the trip to states were Nova Nova Makhammatijonova, Nate Buehler, Paige Reddig, Jason Kreiser, Desiree Buitrago, and Corbin Wise and Micah Neff.
