The Little Mermaid - The next classic Disney film to get the "live-action" treatment takes viewers "Under the Sea" and makes them "Part of (that) world"! Ariel, the curious mermaid, discovers a handsome prince and is, naturally, intrigued by him. After his ship wrecks, Prince Eric fell into the ocean, and Ariel saved him. The story follows their adventures while they fall in love. The live-action version follows the same storyline, but gives a real-life twist. With Halle Bailey as Ariel, we are in for an exciting movie. The Little Mermaid comes out on May 26, 2023.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny - While not much is known about the latest film in the Indiana Jones franchise, we do know that in the past movies Indiana Jones played by Harrison Ford has gone on adventures looking for a titular "McGuffin,," or an object in a movie that serves merely as a catalyst for the plot. In the Raiders of the Lost Ark, he was looking for the Ark of the Covenant. In The Temple of Doom, he was looking for the Sankara Stones. Preliminary research suggests that the Dial of Destiny is the real-life Antikythera Mechanism. The Antikythera Mechanism is a man-powered, Ancient Greek orrery, or solar model. In the trailer, we can see that part of the movie occurs underwater, the location of the Antikythera Mechanism recovery in 1902. Dial of Destiny is Ford's last ride as the beloved archaeologist, so you don't want to miss this fantastic adventure. The movie is slated for a theatrical release on June 30, 2023.
