The CHS Variety Show has always been an exciting way for students to showcase their talents in front of peers. This year was certainly no exception. This year it took place on November 22, and if you could not attend, here's everything you missed!
This year's judges were Bethany Seehusen, Angela Liefeld, and Stuart Gausman. One special thing about the Variety Show is that the audience can vote for their top three winners at the very end of the show! In addition, winners were up for several cash prizes, including $150 for the first-place winner, $100 for second and $50 for third.
Jenna Taylor and Aidan Balentine won this year'ss event with a broadway style duet, the dance trio of Avery Hiebner, Emma Carlson and Larkin Westfall took second place and the lucky third-place winners were Jesus Marino, Jesus Medina, and Issac Ferrer doing the guitar trio. This group of boys also happened to be the crowd favorite this year! According to the choir director and variety show advisor Jacob Ritter, "A fun story about them, they were not scheduled to be in the variety show until the day of the performance! I heard them playing in the CHS entryway after school as people were leaving, and I asked them then and there to come in and soundcheck for the show. I am so glad they performed! They did a great job and impressed everyone!"
Ritter says his favorite part of the show is hearing all the acts perform. He enjoys seeing all of the talents CHS can put on, and he learns the abilities of many students that he has never seen before! "I would say I put in an additional 50 hours of work to make it happen. But I am always glad I did when it is over!"
If you are curious to know what all of the other talented students performed, here they are!
