October 31st is a holiday celebrated by many people everywhere. While most of the people who celebrate are little kids, who's to say the big kids can't have fun too? Anyone who thinks that Halloween is strictly for kids is wrong, which will be proven here today. If you are someone who feels that candy and costumes are only for kids, and can't handle being wrong, go ahead and leave now so neither of us wastes our time.
Anyway, when you think of Halloween, most people think of Trick or Treating. However, while I may have once advocated that anyone should be allowed to Trick or Treat, I must admit I was wrong; we're all too old for this. So instead of going door to door asking for sweets, why not stay home and give out candy? All you have to do is buy some candy, turn on your front porch light and watch the costumed children flock to your door like a moth to a flame. Still want to wear a costume? Do it! You can dress up like anything you want and sweeten up someone's bucket from just outside the comforting warmth of your own home. Of course, let's not forget about the little kids' adorable costumes, either. Cute costumes, charitable candy distribution, staying home - what's not to love?
Suppose you don't want to encourage childhood vagrancy and candy solicitation. In that case, that doesn't mean you can't get in the spirit of the holiday. Try hosting or attending a Halloween Party!! A Halloween party is the perfect chance to combine dressing up, music, candy AND all of your friends. You could decorate the venue with terrifying decorations, play spooky party games and have a scary good time. The best part is neither having to utter nor hear the phrase "Dupe or Delicacy" or however it goes.
Additionally, anyone who loves a good scare will love this next paragraph. A haunted house is perfect for celebrating Halloween because it is the ideal combination of bone-chilling and exhilarating. You can bring a group, or you could be a brave soul and go on your own. Whether alone or with a group, the guaranteed frights are an evening sure to make you cautious when you go to bed at night.
Another thing you can do to celebrate "spooky season" is going to a pumpkin patch. They have plenty of fun activities for Halloween. If you go to the right pumpkin patch, they have zip lines, mini golf, slides and many other fun activities with a scary twist. Are you more about autumn than you are Halloween? Go to the Pumpkin Patch anyway! These delightful domains can be visited anytime during the fall season to help make your celebration that much more fun.
Last, but certainly not least, pumpkin carving is another activity for those searching for an enjoyable pastime. This activity allows your creativity to shine through. You can carve pumpkins and make them have whatever facial expression you want. If you are anything like me, you would rather draw/paint decorations and faces. Risking exposure to sharp knives just to carve a crooked smile in a vegetable is overrated. Even though this option is certainly messy, it just makes it that much more Halloweener.
In conclusion, anyone who thinks Halloween is strictly costumes and candy is WRONG. There are more than enough options to help you fall into the season with a dash of fun. While all of these are spooktacular options to help you join in the spooky season celebration, anything is better than the rusty old “Schemes and Sweets” or something like that. It is so outdated, I can’t even remember what it is called!!! Besides, there are more entrancing things to do than going door to door, it’s a little creepy if you ask me.
