Outside Sunday’s service at Bethany Slavic Church here in Ephrata sits a display showing Ukrainian people being helped through the church’s efforts.“War is evil, it doesn’t matter what way you look at it,” said Konstantin Reznik, the church’s missions pastor.

 

“We decided that we as a church, as brothers, as sisters, we need to help people over there.”

Reznik, along with several other members, came together to start the Ukraine War Refugee Aid Fund.

 

“We’re spending the money almost as soon as money comes in, buying food and helping refugees in Poland, Ukraine, and Romania,” said Reznik.More than $200,000 has been raised so far.

Sophomores and Juniors: Interested in helping the Class of 2026 have a smoother transition to EHS next year?  The Link Crew program is looking for YOU!!

 

Link Crew Leaders are upperclassmen who are solid role models for incoming 9th grade students.  We are looking for responsible 10th and 11th graders with good communication skills and leadership potential who are willing to share the lessons they have learned that have allowed them to be successful at EHS.  YOU could have a tremendous impact on our new students, and you will learn many valuable leadership skills in the process.

 

Link Leaders are trained to work with and help the incoming freshmen class transition into high school.  If this sounds interesting to you, fill out an application right away (available in Schoology).  Applications are due by Wednesday, March 23rd @ 3:00pm.  If you aren't sure and would like to know more, please see Mrs. Mandell, Mrs. Calhoun, or Mr. Habowski for more details / information.

It's time to fill out your brackets for March madness! The first 2 games are being played in Dayton Ohio tomorrow and Wednesday. The first round opens on Thursday!

 

Over the weekend the state wrestling championships concluded at Giant Center in Hershey. James Ellis started out with a loss in his first match but then won his second match to continue in the tournament. Unfortunately, he lost his third match. 

 

Congratulations go to basketball all stars: Mason Hagen second team, Dylan Kohl second team honorable mention, Cara Tiesi second team, Brynn Adams first team, and Jasmine Griffin first team and Section Two MVP!
