The CHS Cross country team has dashed their way to a successful season. Coach Stacy Smith says that her goal for this season was “continuing to drop time each race and qualify for state as individuals and as a team.”
With two weeks left in this season, the team has recently completed the conference meet and is moving on to districts on October 14. The team continues to practice five days a week, every day after school as well as individuals practicing over the weekends.
With several successful meets this season, many individuals have placed well. Recently, junior Noah Lawrence placed in the top 15 at the HAC Championships and is well on his way to similar accolades at districts.
The CHS Cross Country team finds out if they make state as a team and as individuals tomorrow at the district meet. Districts are at Pioneer Park in Lincoln with the girls running at 12:00 and the boys beginning at 12:30.
