On Tuesday freshman Rebecca Abraham competed in the first ever virtual regional public speaking contest for FFA. She had to compete and qualify in the county level contest in order to earn a spot to advance to this level of the competition and go head to head with other students from Lancaster, Berks, and Lebanon counties. During the contest, she recited the 5 paragraph FFA creed from memory and answered 2 extemporaneous questions about the meaning of the creed. We are extremely proud to announce that she placed 6th in the region! If you see her in the halls today, please congratulate her on this major accomplishment.

In today's news, President Biden said on Wednesday that he will withdraw all remaining troops from the "forever war" in Afghanistan. His plan is to pull out all American forces, which is numbered at around 2,500 now, by this Sept. 11. The U.S. cannot continue to pour resources into an intractable war and expect different results, Biden said. Biden’s announcement is probably the most significant foreign policy decision in his presidency so far. On this day in history, in 1865, Abraham Lincoln died from John Wilkes Booths bullet, while attending the play Our American Cousin at Ford's Theater in Washington, D.C."
