In today's news, a computer hacker gained access to the water system of a city in Florida and tried to pump in a "dangerous" amount of a chemical. The hacker increased the amount of sodium hydroxide (lye) in Oldsmar's(city in Florida) water system. However, a worked spotted that this was happening and he quickly reversed it. Lye is used in small amounts to control acidity but a large amount could have caused major problems in the water. No arrests have yet been made and it is not known if the hack was done from within the US or outside.

This important announcement is for any senior whose prospective college requires a mid-year transcript. While the majority of colleges do not require these, you should double check to see if your school needs an updated transcript. If so, login to Naviance to request one ASAP. There are very specific instructions on how to request this on the opening screen in Naviance. You will also find these instructions in Schoology updates.
If you have any questions, stop by the counseling office to check with Mrs. Ditzler.

Have a great day Ephrata!
