A reminder to all students that the second semester begins on Tuesday, January 19th.
You will not be receiving a paper copy of your 2nd semester schedule this year. Instead, you should be sure to check it out through the PowerSchool portal asap. You can do this by clicking on “My Schedule” from the menu on the left side of the home screen. Then click on the “Matrix View” Tab which is located above your schedule. The default is “week view” – which shows this week only. Beginning Monday, you will see your 2nd semester classes by default.
If you are a long term hybrid or online student (disregard if you are just quarantined), you need to review the listing of courses on the EHS website that will not work being online to make sure that you don’t have any of these on your schedule as you will not be able to take them during the second semester since you are not physically in the high school. Please message your counselor with a course that you would like to take in its place (see the open class listing on the EHS Counseling website), as these will be dropped if they are on your schedule.
If you want to add a course in place of a study hall, check the open class listing, and Schoology message your counselor with the name of the course and the period that you are switching with a study hall.
If you changed your mind and wish to drop a course, we need you to have your parent email your counselor with the requested change.

And now over to ____________ with the news

NEWS INTRO
-------------------------
In today's news, after more than 200 years after electric eels inspired the first battery, it has been discovered that electric eels coordinate their zaps. Researchers working in the Amazon filmed eels gathering in packs to herd prey, then stunning them with a synchronized electric shock. The scientists think the eels follow or even herd fish into the shallows before they strike. This behavior, which is seen in wolves and orcas, is rarely seen in fish.
