NEWS INTRO

In today's news, Joe Biden has been certified as the 46th president despite all the scary events yesterday. If you live under a rock, the capitol got stormed and breached by thousands of domestic terrorist Trump supporters who wanted to "stop the steal" after a rally across town that featured Trump and his close allies. As the breach was happening, The President refused to make statements against or call in National Guard backup for overwhelmed Capitol police amid continued unfounded statements of election fraud. The national guard was finally drawn to the scene by the Vice President and Washington D.C enacted a 6:00pm curfew to try to get everyone home. It was the first time the capitol had been breached since the war of 1812. Even after the terrible tragedies that took place yesterday, several Republican Senators and Representatives continued objections into false claims and conspiracy theories that have led to the divisive nature that exists in Congress and the US.
Republican Mitt Romney stated, "We gather today due to a selfish man’s injured pride and the outrage of his supporters whom he has deliberately misinformed for the past two months and stirred to action this very morning. What happened here today was an insurrection, incited by the President of the United States. Those who choose to continue to support his dangerous gambit by objecting to the results of a legitimate, democratic election will forever be seen as being complicit in an unprecedented attack against our democracy. They will be remembered for their role in this shameful episode in American history. That will be their legacy."
