The annual Christmas Store is a tradition at Shanksville-Stonycreek School District, which always take place before Thanksgiving break. This year, the Christmas occurred November 12 and 14 in the school gymnasium for students and the general public.
Each year, the Shanksville Parent Teacher Student Association organizes the Christmas Store event at SSSD. Individuals who have a talent for creating homemade pieces, come to sell their crafted items. Anyone that has an interest in craft decorations or homemade gifts were able to come look around during certain hours of the given days the event was open.
Many people brought items to sell for the Christmas Store. Typically sellers bring items such as homemade christmas decorations, and various other homemade items. People of all ages enjoyed the Christmas Store, because there was something that appealed to all ages. Such as homemade hats, scarves, bows, rustic decorations, sports pillows, oven mitts, and so much more.
Along with these items, there were several other merchandise, sure to please anyone.
The Shanksville PTSA also sold Shanksville Viking items such as t-shirts, water bottles, flashlights, magnets, jewelry, sunglasses and so much more.
Participating vendors included Thirty One, Premiere Jewelry, and U Knead It Massage Therapy who came to sell their merchandise to those that were interested.
Year to year more and more people get involved in the Christmas Store by either selling items or just going to look around at the merchandise. Even vendors participated this year, making this event a little bit bigger and better.
The Christmas store in known by all the students, faculty, friends and family for its wonderful gifts and decorations. This event is always builds excitement for the holiday season every year, and is truly a Christmas tradition at Shanksville-Stonycreek School District.
