Terrorism inside of our country and around the world has grown to terribly high levels. There are a few ways that this great nation can help minimize the threat of terrorism. However, I believe there is no true way to completely stop terrorism.
One specific strategy that the U.S. can use is mandatory background checks on anyone entering the country. This will allow the United States time to scan every person to make sure they are safe to enter. Some of the people that have committed mass shootings pledge their allegiance to ISIS. This is one of the major terror groups that despise the way we live and could put citizen’s lives in danger.
The U.S. should put in a place to ban all people on the terror watch lists from having guns. This would be a precautionary put in place to reduce the risk of more killings from happening. People that are either mentally insane or from terror groups should not legally have the right to own a gun simply because of the harm they can produce. There are people out there that hate our country and those people should not be given some rights to be able to destroy the freedoms we have.
Despite efforts by most world leaders to end terrorism by going to the middle east, most of these efforts take and time and sacrifice lives. There is really no humane way to stop the killing of other people. We as citizens of the U.S. have freedoms that cannot be taken away from fear mongering terrorism that is an epidemic around the world today. There are ways to mitigate terrorism and make it an afterthought in the minds of people in not only our country but the world.
