The hopeful rookie sensation Jack Hughes started out on fire for the Devils in the first preseason game of the season vs the Bruins in Newark.  Hughes, the number 1 pick in the 2019 draft,  scored the first goal of the game and the game winner in overtime off of a beautiful pass from newly acquired Nikita Gusev.  Also, newly acquired former Norris Trophy Winner, PK Subban  had a very strong game paired with Sami Vatanen on the first defensive pairing.  The Devils are hoping for a better turn around this year after a shake up last year.
