Eight Ways to Get Healthier Now.

5 Easy Ways to Get Healthier Now

There's no quick fix to getting healthy, but, even if you're feeling especially lazy, you can make gradual improvements. It all begins by starting to form a habit and then actually sticking with it. Trying something for a week or two will never bring solid results, so consistency is key! While some of these may seem like no-brainers, we'll just remind you again that it just takes a few simple changes in your routine to see improvements over time.

1.  Water: Drink two glasses of water first thing in the morning and wait at least 45 minutes before eating breakfast. This gets you rehydrated after being asleep all night and gets your insides ready for the day. Add some fresh lemon to kick it up a notch!

2. Stress: Keeping your stress in check is crucial to your health. Think about it, when you're stressed you either don't eat or you binge on comfort food. Both make your body shut down. Stress also manifests in your body through aches and pains and sometimes even diseases and skin problems. Take time to at least moderately exercise. Take a walk, take the stairs, take some time to stretch and release any tension. Listen to calming music, meditate, write. Whatever you need to chill.

3. Sleep: Sleeping is not lazy, it's smart. Humans need sleep and without it, you can't think as clearly. You end up making poor choices throughout the day because you're feeling sluggish. Lack of sleep leads to all kinds of problems including lowering your immunity, causing you to get sick. Once you get yourself into the routine of getting 7-8 hours a night, you won't even care about finishing that show on Netflix late at night.

4. Fruit & Fiber: Fruit is an obvious choice for healthy eaters. Not only does fruit contain water, it has the fiber you need and is a natural source of vitamins. Instead of opting for supplements, see which vitamins your favorite fruits have and make a little fruit salad each day to mix up the flavors and guarantee yourself the long-term results. Certain fruits like berries can even keep you looking younger, which you will eventually care about one day.

5. Work Out: Of course, working out is essential to getting healthy. But, it doesn't have to be grueling or something you hate. Find something that you actually like doing, something active and fun. Check out different classes or find a group sports team that adds a social aspect to exercising. The more you enjoy what you're doing, the more likely you'll be able to stick with it, instead of jogging a few times and then realizing that jogging is awful.
