There are many different ways that anyone could help protect our environment that we live in and prevent it from any harm. These ways are in place so our planet that we live on is healthy and safe for the whole population that lives on it. One of the ways that has been with us for a long time is recycling.
Recycling is the process of converting waste materials and objects. It is an alternative to “conventional” waste disposal, which can help lower greenhouse gas emissions. Recycling can prevent the waste of potentially useful materials and reduce the consumption of fresh materials, thereby reducing energy usage, air pollution, and water pollution. Recycling is a key component of modern waste reduction and is the third component of the “Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle” waste hierarchy. Thus, recycling aims at the environmental sustainability by substituting raw material inputs and redirecting waste outputs out of the economic system.
There are many materials that can be recycled which includes many kinds of glass, paper, cardboard, metal, plastic, tires, textiles, batteries, and electronics. Composting is a reuse of biodegradable waste—such as food or garden waste. Materials that to be recycled are either delivered to a household recycling center or picked up from curbside bins, then sorted, cleaned, and reprocessed into new materials destined for manufacturing new products. This is how recycling can be done in many different ways.
Therefore, if we continue to recycle and do other things to make the environment we live in healthy, clean, and safe, we would be able to enjoy the planet that we live on for many more years to come. Recycling can help make sure our waste is able to be reduced, reused, and recycled. People need to stop throwing trash on the ground and dumping waste in different bodies of water if they want to not only themselves to stay healthy, clean, and safe, but the environment that everyone lives on as well. If everyone steps up to the plate and starts doing these ways of helping our environment, we could probably reduce some of the problems that we are still doing to our planet today. In order to do all of this, we need to protect the environment that we live on, so it can continue to protect us and keep us safe.
