The Christmas season has always been my favorite part of the year. It's the one time of year when everyone is on the same page singing Christmas songs and tearing up wrapping paper. For me it's the time of year when i'm the happiest I will ever be. The pressure of picking out the perfect presents. Coordinating wrapping paper and bows and making sure my ribbons are all curled up. These things sometimes stress people out but I welcome the challenge and strive to make Christmas as perfect as i can for other people.
Everyone has different Christmas traditions. Some people have a specific food they eat every year or a specific place they go Christmas morning. These traditions bring unexplainable joy to so many people even though they are such small little things a person does. The holiday season takes all of your emotions and puts them into hyper drive.
Every year on Christmas eve me and my family go to church for the Christmas service and then get together with a bunch of people to eat a bunch of little hors d'oeuvres and music. Below are some of the Christmas traditions of other students and teachers at Delaware Valley High School.
"I don't feel like my Christmas is any different from like hallmark. Oh, We hang up a stocking for my great grandmother every year even though she passed away."
"My siblings come home. like my family is never always in the same place at the same time except for Christmas."
"FAMILY GAME NIGHT! we play a lot of Pictionary, Apples to Apples, or Cards Against Humanity depending on the crowd and my uncle Keith is hysterical every year."
"The whole family in PJ's in the morning gathered around the tree."
"FINDING THE PICKLE IN THE TREE! we use to use to even have one that sang. and the first person to find the pickle gets candy and then everyone else gets mad."
"My favorite tradition by far is Belgian waffles with ice cream and coffee for breakfast after we open all of our presents. when i was seven getting a cup of coffee was such a big deal because it made me feel so grown up."
"hiding the Christmas pickle."
"Spending time with my friends family"
"GETTING GIFTS"
