The East Juniata FFA is celebrating the harvest season. The Ag Mechanics class hauled mulch and spread it around the greenhouse, as well as, in front of the digital sign that is in front of the school. The student teacher, Mrs. Sheena Haas, supervised the project and advised the students. Before the mulch could be put down, the areas needed to be weeded, which was done by the Agriculture Education and FFA & Leadership classes. Members of various classes then planted perennials and mums after the mulch was put down. Other than mulching and planting, the FFA also decorated. The school recently had a door decorating contest. Advisor Steve McLaughlin and Mrs. Haas provided gourds, pumpkins, and straw to incorporate in the display. Ferns were donated by a supporter and the FFA will then use them to make cuttings for future plants.
