The New Jersey Devils, coming off their 1st win of the season in Switzerland, played the Defending Stanley Cup Champions Washington Capitals for the first game at the Prudential Center for the 2018-2019 season. The National Anthem was performed by who other than Arlette. Kyle Palmieri off to an insane start with 4 goals in the first 2 games of the season, opened the scoring for the devils and what was the start of a rout by the devils. Kyle Palmieri would score once more making it 2-0 by the end of the first period. Kyle Palmieri would finish the night with 2 goals and 5 SOG's. In the second Marcus Johansson would score against his former team to make it 3-0 at the end of the second. Marcus Johansson would finish with 1 goal and 2 SOG's. The Devil's in the 3rd scored three more goals thanks to Brian Boyle, Blake Coleman, and new comer Jean-Sebastien Dea. The Devils would go on to win in an impressive first game at home of the new season.
What I noticed was that they were much more faster and even know it is the first couple games on the season is that the younger men have become more mature. The devils will be a great team this year and might make it farther than the first round this year thanks to a couple players who will arise into a stud.
