On Friday, September 21, 2018, six out of the nine editors of the East Juniata High School yearbook for the 2018-2019 school year took a field trip to Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC) in order to learn about the task ahead of them. Yearbook advisor Mrs. Watto accompanied Kayla Forry, Jeff (Clay) Leitzel, Chloe Fortenbaugh, Emily Kuhn, Kylie Elsasser, and Paige Smith on their trip to the college campus, where they were taught about methods of coverage, designs, and photography for the school’s yearbook. The students listened to a speaker who said she has been a yearbook advisor for 12 years, and to a professional photographer who demonstrated how to properly use a camera.

The educational trip will be very helpful to the attendees, as they received ideas for covers, layouts, and themes. Mrs. Watto was also given some pointers on how to keep her staff members motivated and working as a team, some of which she is thinking about trying. The editors are looking forward to putting together the 2018-2019 yearbook for East Juniata High School. They are excited to use what they learned at HACC to create a book full of memories this year!
