On Wednesday, October 26th some of the oil painting students went to the Deane Center. There they helped set up for the annual art show. The theme was "Autumn and Sugar Skulls." Seniors Maddy Hepp, Emma Kotz, Audrey Zuchowski, Renee Tardieu, and Faith Spicer were the helpers. These students had never gone to set up this particular art show before, so it was new to them all. “It’s such a great experience to have, plus it’s fun.,” said Emma Kotz. They incorporated some placements from the year prior, but helped bring a new perspective as well. For example, this year they set the color and design class art work up with some fall colored boards and spread them out around them gallery. “I had arrived later than everyone else, but I loved it. The people and the art was relaxing,” said Maddy Hepp.
Surprisingly enough there is a method to setting up an art show. It can range anywhere from the colors to the direction of the artwork’s subject is looking. If it isn’t eye appealing for even the way it’s set up, people won’t be intrigued. The students decided to have a little fun once they were finished. In the far corner of the art gallery was a pumpkin family with the heads cut out. They all jumped in to get a picture together!. Audrey Zuchowski said with a laugh, “My favorite part by far was being the mama pumpkin.”
