Bright colors, balayages, bobs and more! All of these hair options are available at Dye Hard Salon, located on Route 6, not too far down the road from Delaware Valley High School.
The salon was opened by Stephanie Szipocs on July 19, 2016. Though the salon has been open for less than two years, Szipocs hopes to someday open up multiple locations in multiple states, including New York and New Jersey.
The salon’s name was suggested by Szipocs’s husband because all of the staff love working with color, and they wanted the salon to be different by incorporating their love for color into the name.
Szipocs has been practicing cosmetology for seven years and attended Empire Beauty School in Wilkes Barre to become a licensed cosmetologist.
“I absolutely love making people feel amazing and letting them see what they do not see in themselves,” said Szipocs.
Color melts and balayages are the most popular options at Dye Hard. Color melts start with one color at the roots that blends into a new color at the tips- almost like a waterfall effect. Balayage is not a specific style or color; it is a technique. The stylist applies the dye freehanded like one would when painting a canvas.
The salon has three employees: Szipocs, Jennifer Benson and Kaitlyn Vaivada. The small staff makes it difficult to fit every appointment in, but Szipocs loves how close everyone is with each other and how easy it is to manage. Customers enjoy the friendliness and warmness of the staff.
“I love the welcoming atmosphere!” says frequent customer Erika Torres. “They serve me coffee and tell me about their families when I come in.” If you are interested in getting your hair dyed, watch out for the fall hair color special that will be appearing soon and make an appointment by calling (570) 296-0613.
