Delaware Valley Lacrosse powers through season

The Warriors lost a close game against Wyoming Seminary High School on April 27. They then faced off against Pleasant Valley on April 28 and walked away with a win under their belts. Their overall season record is 6 – 5, the Warriors competed against North Pocono on April 30 which was their final home game of the season and senior night.
DV – 9, Wyoming Sem. – 10
The Warrior’s offense was led by senior Anton Mackey and sophomore Shane Roche both of whom scored three goals. In addition, sophomore Jackson Melnick contributed two goals and junior Nash Hamil contributed one.
While the Warrior’s defensive team was spearheaded by senior Joe Actisdano who saved five goals over the course of the game.
“The past few games haven’t gone our way but hopefully we can turn it around to make a playoff run,” said Actisdano.
The Warrior’s played aggressively and took 24 shots at the opposing team’s goal however they fell short resulting in a loss.
“We scored one goal in three quarters, then eight goals in another. We were inconsistent and did not take advantage of those opportunities for the rest of the game,” said head coach Jeff Krasulski.
DV – 21, Pleasant Valley – 5
The Warrior’s relied heavily on the seniors consisting of Dan Matarazzo, Jimmy Quinn and Mackey who scored 12 of the 21 goals. Also sophomores Josh Balcarcel, Stefen Lindaas, Melnick and Roche added to the Warrior’s win.
In addition, Mackey won 15 out of the 18 face-offs he participated in, helping the Warrior’s dominate the game.
“As of now we have been having pretty good competition and as long as we keep the fire burning, I think we can make playoffs,” said Mackey.
