Simone Giertz, whose popular channel on YouTube highlights the construction of many "sh*##y robots," announced that she has been diagnosed with a brain tumor. In a video uploaded on Monday, Giertz said that the tumor is non-cancerous but its large size means she will have to have "pretty extensive brain surgery" to remove it with the risk that she will lose her right eye. The surgery is scheduled for late May. 

Simone joked, "If I lose my right eye, I really feel like I'd be a pretty rad eye patch wearer,"  admitting that she has already been designing eye patches. She then wondered if she could eventually send her tumor to space.
