East Juniata Tigers Take On the Upper Dauphin Trojans

On Wednesday, April 25th, the East Juniata Tigers Boys track team took on the Upper Dauphin Trojans. In the first event, EJ’s 4x8 relay team barely fell short, running 4 seconds behind the Trojans. Next, in the 110 meter hurdles, John Moyer took first place with a time of 18.1. Shortly after, in the 100 meter sprint, Christian Benner took 3rd place, only 1 second behind first and second place. Next, in the 1600 meter run, Albert Heister grabbed second place with a time of 5:19. In the 400, Zach Fogle and Christian Benner took second and third place. John Moyer gave EJ another win in the 300 hurdles. Nick Pillot took third in the 800 meter run. Next, Christian Benner took second in the 200 meter sprint with a time of 26 seconds. Albert Heister smashed the competition in the 3200 meter run, taking first. Finally, to top off the track events, EJ’s 4x4 relay team took first place with a time of 3:59.
For the field events, EJ finished with a close score of 20 to 33. EJ’s Garrett Gabel placed first in javelin and EJ’s Jonathan Phillips placed third. Garrett Gabel placed second in shot put with a throw of 35’ 5 ½”. Next, in the long jump, EJ’s Blake Sheaffer jumped a 18’9” placing first. For the high jump, Gabe Agostinho placed second with a 5’4” and EJ and UDA tied for third place. Rylie Hepner placed first in the triple jump with a 37’8”. For the final field event, Garrett Gabel placed second in discus with a 109’10”. The overall score for the meet finished with the Tigers having 55 points and the Trojans having 85. Although East Juniata did not win the meet, the boys tried their hardest and intend to continue to do their best.
