Plant and soil sciences have been busy in the greenhouse this spring here at East Juniata. A project is currently underway where the students took orders for different plants. The students then must plant from seeds to fulfill their own order forms. There are many different kinds of flowers such as begonias, snapdragons, and more along with different vegetables including tomatoes, cabbages and broccoli. With this spring starting off cooler than average it is a strenuous job keeping up with the plants. Many students had to replant their projects as the cool weather frosted the buds. However, now that it is starting to get warmer the plants are taking off. Hanging baskets are being made to fulfill orders and flowers are starting to bloom. The plant and soil science class is getting great hands on experience with this project.
