Every year, the Juniata Ducks Unlimited Chapter takes a day to work on local habitats to improve the duck population. This year, the chapter went to Zook's Dam to check any existing boxes for eggs, make repairs, and hang new nesting boxes for wood ducks. Some of the boxes were very difficult to reach due to the growth of vegetation, but with the help of many people, the boxes were hung in the appropriate spots along the creek. This year the weather was very cold and windy, but that did not stop the chapter from doing the job successfully. After all the boxes were checked and the work was done for the day, the duck population will thrive again in the local area.
