East Juniata’s plant and soil science class installed a greenhouse connected to the new Ag shop 3 years ago. This program has been very productive for the plant and soil science class because the students in that class are constantly studying about plants and soil. Not only is that class active in the classroom, they are also active in the greenhouse planting different plants. This class makes cuttings from bigger plants to multiply those plants. They also grow all different types of plants by planting seeds in the greenhouse that they can later sell, take home, or transplant outside.  Right now the plant and soil class created a flyer to sell plants that they have grown in the the greenhouse. Whichever group sells the most plants wins a prize. The main categories of plants that are being grown are herbs, succulents, and flowers. This greenhouse continues to grow and supplies the community with beautiful produce and flowers.
