This year, the East Juniata Girls Softball Team lead by a new coach, Lauren McGuire. Lauren is 23 years old and recently graduated from Shippensburg University.  Lauren said that she saw the job offer in the newspapers and she thought she would apply for it. Not thinking that she would actually get the job since she is so young, she says she feels blessed to be given the opportunity at such a young age. Lauren said that she is excited to experience a sport as a coach rather than a player. 

As players on the East Juniata Girls Softball Team, we are having a great time with our new coach. We are learning a lot all while having fun. Lauren’s dad, Lenny, also helps coach the team. He always has words of positive encouragement to give the team at the end of practice. The tigers season was supposed to start with two scrimmages, but because of the snow they year were canceled. The first official game is Tuesday March 27th, against
