Every year around this time of year, the set for the East Juniata play starts to be constructed. The whole set is built and designed by Mr. Roush. But Mr. Roush gets some of his students to help with the construction every year. I do not believe that most people understand how much work and time is put into the set. It all starts when Mr. Roush designs every piece that is going to be built for the set. Once all the props are designed, we go to work making all the drawings on paper turn into real objects.
Most of the small props are built and constructed up in the shop and carried down to the set. But most of the walls and skyscrapers for this years set gets built down at the stage. Once all the small props are built and taken down to the stage, we normally take what supplies we need to build the rest of the things from the shop to the stage. The rest of the props are built down at the stage and put together. But after many long nights by Mr.Roush and study halls from all of his students, the set gets completed on time and turns out amazing. Mr. Roush truly deserves the credit for providing an amazing set every year for the play.
