On Sunday, March 4th, the Newfield Roverines traveled to the Southern New York State Vex Robotics Championship in Katonah, NY where they competed against 51 of New York's best robots. Despite some issues throughout the day, the Roverines ended the Qualification Matches in 3rd, and went on to win the competition with teams from The Masters School and Jericho High school. They brought home both the tournament champions trophy and banner!
The Roverines are very proud of their accomplishments and will now travel to Louisville, Kentucky, for the VEX Worlds Competition from April 25th through April 28th. The VEX Worlds Competition brings the top 564 robots in the world together to compete for the title of VEX World Champion.
This is the second year in a row that the Roverines Robotics Team has won the NYS Championship and will represent New York State on the world stage, and they are very excited.
Congratulations to the Newfield Roverines and their advisor, Mr. Cory Fitzgerald! And good luck in Kentucky!
