To punish his students for showing up late to class one too many times, a teacher at the University of Electronic Science and Technology in Chengdu, China made them write out 1,000 emojis after class. If you think this sounds like a good time, it's important to know that each emoji had to be different. The punishment may not be as bad as Professor Umbridge's hand-carving in Harry Potter, but it's still pretty insane even if you're an emoji fanatic. The times have definitely changed from the days of the wooden paddle smacks or even just a trip to detention. Hopefully for these students, emojis aren't ruined forever.
