To celebrate National Girls and Women Sports Day, the WNBA held a basketball clinic and panel at Asphalt Green in NYC. The day is meant as a way to empower female athletes and promote the continued expansion of opportunities for girls and women to play sports and live physically active lives. The panel was held to engage local youth and inspire the next generation to not only play sports, but to explore careers in the sports industry.
The panel was moderated by three-time WNBA champion Tina Charles and featured WNBA Chief Operating Officer Jay Barnes, espnW writer Katie Barnes, Asphalt Green Chief Marketing Officer Sarah Bennett, New York Liberty center and five-time WNBA All-Star Swin Cash, and Adele Jackson-Gibson from the Players' Tribune.
