On February 22, four students from East Juniata left to participate in the region 3 band festival. Those students were Sarah Irvin on tenor sax, Zachary Leitzel on trumpet 2, Paige Smith on bass clarinet, and Kylie Elsasser on alto sax 2. The festival was held at Bellefonte Area High School. These students would practice all day long to prepare for the concert that was held on Saturday, February 24th, at 11:00. The songs in concert order were Firefly by Ryan George, Colonial Song by Percy Grainger, Bookmarks from Japan by Julie Giroux, and Folk Dances by Dmitri Shostakovich. The guest conductor was Dr. Martin from West Chester University. Though the music was very challenging, the concert went very well and the overall festival was a great experience.
