Music has many different variations to fit everyone's personalities, preferences, and lifestyles. Songs are personal and can be loved by some or detested by others. Here at the Viklet, we are giving you our feelings on some of the new music, so you can really find great songs to jam out to.
Light It Up- Major Lazer
Light It Up is a fast, pop song that has a message that goes beyond the song. It just sounds like a typical party song but if you listen closely to the lyrics it's telling the audience to keep pushing forward, and to never give up. Thus giving inspiration and not just cool sounding music. This song is very different than most party songs because instead of just using the usual drums, piano, and techy affects, this song uses a trumpet and an xylophone making it a very unique song that’s unlike any other.
Can’t Stop This Feeling- Justin Timberlake
Justin Timberlake created a fun, cheerful song that the whole family can sing and dance along too. It talks about not letting others judge you, just being yourself and having fun. Unlike Timberlake’s previous love songs he usually sings, this song gives a cheery mood and keeps that upbeat tempo that people love, not a serious slow lovey dovey song. This is just a fun enjoyable song that almost anyone can boogie down too.
H.O.L.Y- Florida Georgia Line
H.O.L.Y is a soft country song describing a man’s love for his significant other. The H.O.L.Y is the abbreviation for the words high on loving you. Those words are being used to describe the feeling this man gets from falling in love. This song gives a different mood than Florida Georgia Line usually does. This band usually plays fast country, but this time they use a slower tempo to get the feeling across. H.O.L.Y is a great song and is different from typical country songs.
7 Years- Lukas Graham
Seven Years chronicles Lukas Graham’s life from childhood to adulthood, and major parts of this man's life growing up. It's a catchy song and most importantly relatable, which is why most people love this song. Each event he talks about in the song are problems most people experience growing up, and then describes how he overcame those problems. This is a great song that everyone can see themselves being described throughout the music.
Square Hammer - Ghost
Swedish occult rockers, Ghost, are back with a brand new single titled Square Hammer. The song follows the band’s successful formula of incorporating driving guitars, haunting keyboards, and the fringe-falsetto vocals of vocalist Papa Emeritus II. Ghost are known for including a hook in their hard rock and this song is no exception, with a huge sing along chorus. Square Hammer follows in line with past Ghost releases and fans will not be disappointed.
