Albert Einstein (Born: March 14, 1879 Died: April 18, 1955) is perhaps the most globally recognized scientist of the 20th century. Born and raised in Germany, Einstein was awarded the 1921 Nobel Prize in Physics for his role in developing quantum theory, the study of matter and its interactions with atoms and subatomic particles. His landmark discovery of the relationship between mass and energy, notated as “E = mc2”, has been called the world's most famous equation.
