PV Volleyball Team

The success of any sports team is derived from hard work, dedication, and especially, communication. While constantly attending practices and games together, the ladies on the Volleyball team have chosen to connect with each other on and off the courts.

“The team works non-stop to improve their skills both on and off the courts,” said Sofia Janak, senior. “The bonding process has allowed us to give one another constructive criticism while we play during games as well as during practice.”

While some may take constructive criticism to heart, these ladies have established a well enough friendship between each other to truly understand one another and improve consistently. A handful of the ladies on the team converse on a daily basis and constantly comment on one another’s techniques and form throughout practices and games.

“The techniques and methods on the court have improved immensely due to the interaction between the girls on and off the court.” said Craig Morris, junior varsity coach.

Lack of communication and bonding can be a tough factor to overcome with a team or group. The ladies on the volleyball team make it a point to bond and are extremely vocal with one another. The comfort level between the ladies is extremely high due to their long term friendships with each other over the years. Team sleepovers and dinner dates are quite common for the team; the friendships continue to blossom as time goes on.

“Over the summer we went to Blue Mountain Aerial Park for a team bonding day, which really allowed all the girls to just be themselves and have a lot of fun together.” said Noel Kelly, senior Volleyball captain.
