Newfield's fencing team has been doing their best performance this year than any other recent year. Watching the meets, you could feel the over-power energy from both the boys and girls. There’s no doubt this team shows astonishing sportsmanship, hefty teamwork and most importantly, they never stop showing their support for each other. 

On January 11th, Newfield went up against their district rivals, Centereach, and both the boys and girls showed off their excellent athletic abilities and won yet another meet. So far, Newfield has only lost 1 meet, but they will not let that loss get to them. Ever since then, it’s been winning ever since. 

After speaking with Epee fencer, Evan Sidorowicz who has been on the team for 3 years, I asked him his thoughts on how the team has improved. 

“Newfield Fencing has improved in the last three years in the individual skill of each fencer and behind a motivating coach that is willing to give his time and attention to each fencer,” said Evan. “We all equally believe in each other and share the same goal, to give our all no matter the circumstances of a meet, or the assignment of a physically demanding exercise, we have learned our strength as a team can carry us to victory no matter the storm ahead”.
