Make sure to mark the calendar and take a trip to Ann Street Park in the hub of Milford. From Jan. 20-21 visit the annual Milford Winter Lights Festival and the ice rink that is open all winter.
As well as events outside an annual Mac N’ Chile contest will be held at the Dimmick Inn from 11:30 – 2:00 p.m. on Jan. 20.
Along with many other activities, the main ice presentation will be “Merlin Awakens.”
Beside the festival, one can go ice skating and view an ice sculpture that is the center piece of the event.
“It was so much fun when my friends and I all went together. We would make a train so none of would fall down and we would admire the beautiful ice sculptures they had.” said senior Alex Mann about her previous experiences.
Senior Michaela Mackey stated that in previous years the ice sculptures featured birds and many different types of animals. Although she did not ice skate, Mackey said that it was interesting to see the sculptors still working on the ice sculptors.
To stay updated on events, weather and times that effect the festival, the nonprofit organization has a Facebook page called Winter Lights Festival, Milford PA.
