TOASTEROID MAKES THE SMARTEST TOAST EVER
Toasteroid, a futuristic, app-controlled Kickstarter toaster, is set to redesign how we meet our mornings. Billed as a self-expressive, mood-lifting way to surprise your loved ones, as well as an inventive replacement for post-it notes and reminders, Toasteroid provides the means to customize and toast bread via mobile device. Toasteroid’s trademark Smart Toasting system is its central innovation—powered by heated Microfilament technology, Toasteroid can toast-design everything from screen drawings to emojis to weather forecasts, or secret messages sent through the app that can only be read via toasting them onto a slice of bread.

A FRAME THAT SLOWS THINGS DOWN
Meet Slow Dance, the stand-alone frame that can coerce any lightweight object, such as a fern or feather, to slow-mo move it on command. Here’s the science behind the shake—the human eye can detect strobe lighting up to 24 frames per second; above this rate, the eye can’t differentiate between still images and moving ones. When strobe frequencies get high enough, any movement occurring within strobe lighting appears to slow down. So when Slow Dance combines recessed, rapid LED strobes on all sides of its frame with a tiny mechanism that shakes objects at the rate of 80 times per second, slow motion is (or at least appears to be), the result!

WHY IS THIS NOTEBOOK IN THE MICROWAVE?
While some prefer computers and typing to pen-and-paper note taking, many creative purists see the latter as an indispensable way to brainstorm and develop concepts. Meet the RocketBook Wave, an app-driven, cloud-connected, pen-and-paper notebook that integrates the organization and ease of computer-based notation with the hands-on, aesthetic fulfillment of a traditional notebook. After notes are taken with a pen, the Rocketbook app quickly scans and enhances each page, then automatically sends the images to whichever cloud service the owner has marked. Best of all, RocketBooks are refreshable. Built to be used with Pilot FriXion erasable pens containing heat-sensitive ink, 4 minutes in the microwave will return a filled RocketBook to its original, blank state.

PIZZA HUT HAS A TATTOO THAT LETS YOU PLACE AN ORDER
A new, effortless recipe for Pizza Hut’s namesake pie has hit the web: simply mix one temporary tattoo, one arm, one mobile device, wait approximately 30 minutes, and listen for the doorbell. The result is simple, pizza delivered, but the process is a bit more complex. The Pizza Hut temp-tattoos are actually extremely limited edition, United Kingdom only, NFC chips, programmed to order a custom pizza of the wearer’s choice. NFC, or Near Field Communications, is a technology in which digital interaction occurs whenever an NFC-enabled device is either tapped or brought into close proximity of an NFC chip—in this case, when the phone hits the tattoo, the order is placed. The Pizza Hut temp tattoos are available only via contest on the company’s Facebook page.
