Recently I had the pleasure of getting to meet and interview one of the new psychologists at Newfield High School, Ms. Wafer.
Before working at Newfield, Ms. Wafer previously worked as a school psychologist for a school district in the Caribbean. Since becoming a psychologist, she also had an interest in law school and thought it was an “interesting field.” I asked Ms. Wafer why she thought psychology was so important; she replied, “Every student can learn…. I want to help them overcome any obstacles in their way…”
Another question I asked was how her experience here at Newfield was so far; she had nothing but great things to say. “I love it.”, “The students are great…,” “Staff was very warm and welcoming...especially guidance.” Some experiences Ms. Wafer is looking forward to in the future is “meeting more students.” “My door is always open” she added. Ms. Wafer has hobbies that include the outdoors such as hiking, “I love the outdoors.” But another thing she loves is TV sitcom, The Office. She also has two dogs, a Pomeranian and a Chihuahua.
As the interview began to end, I asked one more question. Is there anything else the student body should know? Ms. Wafer replied with one thing “I’m excited to be here!”
Author’s Note: I want to personally thank Ms. Wafer for taking time out of her busy schedule to meet with me, and I want to wish her the best of luck here at Newfield!
