For my last blog, I talked about fantasy football, how it originated and how much it has grown since its inception. In that blog, I also mentioned how I am involved in 4 fantasy football leagues, with some being for money and some being for just fun. So, for this blog, I thought I would talk about my fantasy teams, how they are doing and what could be in store for my teams.
The first team I am going to talk is my money league team, which I will abbreviate to DN because I’m not going to repeat my team’s inappropriate name. This league, which is run through ESPN, that DN is apart of is run by my cousin, and the other teams in the league are run by his friends and myself. Everyone put $20 into the league, so the winner gets $180 and the second place finisher gets their $20 back. Additionally, the winner gets a belt that they can show off to everyone, which I believe is the best thing about the league. So far this year, DN is 5-1, which puts me in a tie for first place. Overall, I have been doing very well in this league so far.
The other 3 leagues that I am involved in are all non-money leagues, but that doesn’t mean there’s no prize or that I don’t pay attention to them. In the league that my team, “Vietnamese Jesus” (VJ), the prize is a huge trophy, which I won last year. Currently VJ is 4-2, and I am in 2nd place in the league. In another league, which is a family league and run through Yahoo, the prize is a $15 DQ gift card, and my team “BradyandtheDisciples” is 3-3 and in 5th place. Finally, in a league with other Freedom High School students, where there is no prize, my team “Just Gonna Send It” is 3-3 and tied for 2nd place.
For future blogs, I’m thinking about writing more about these teams, but I don’t know yet. We will see how it goes.
