Wildfire Destruction in Napa
Heroic firefighters and a reprieve from the most intense winds have garnered some hope for an end in what has been deadliest wildfire in California history. The monstrous infernos have killed at least 40 people and burned about 5,700 homes and businesses.
There are still more than a dozen fires are burning in Northern California, but some residents are being allowed to return home as the mandatory evacuation orders are lifted in areas, including in Napa and Calistoga counties.

Predatory Behavior Has Consequences
Times they are a changing. Powerful men are finally being called out for sexual harassment and other predatory actions towards the women they work with. A growing number of actresses, journalists and others in the film business have made accusations against the Hollywood film producer, Harvey Weinstein. Once one of the most powerful producers in the movie business, he has now been fired from his company, booted from the Academy of Motion Pictures, and had his wife leave him, adding to the growing list of consequences for his actions.

Somos Raises Money for Disaster Relief
JLo pulled out all the stops when she headlined and helped organize the "One Voice: Somos Live!" concert to raise money for those affected by recent natural disasters. She was joined at the One Voice telethon by such superstars as Ellen Degeneres, Mark Anthony, Demi Lovato, Kim Kardashian, Bethany Frankel and boyfriend Alex Rodriguez. The concert has raised over 30 millions dollars to help those affected by the destructive hurricane season that decimated much of the Caribbean.
The telethon’s proceeds helps aid organizations such as UNICEF, the United Way, Habitat for Humanity and Save the Children, and will help people in Puerto Rico, Mexico, the Caribbean and the U.S.
