After coming off of a hard loss 15-26 against Mars at the opening of the season, Montour increased its record 4-1 with a Homecoming win against Knoch 35-3 on October 15.
The Spartans scored 28 points before halftime with touchdowns from Torry Fisher, Kavon Morman, Ronnie Stevenson, Dante Presutti, Brandon Lipford, while holding Knoch to 3 points.
In coach Cerro’s opinion the boys had played very well in the first half, but became sloppy in their play by the third quarter. The team had luckily turned it around and fixed their issues, making for a good fourth quarter.
“We had a lot of big plays and scored at every opportunity,” commented Coach Cerro.
In previous games, Coach Cerro said they struggled with penalties and that this was an area that needed attention for the upcoming games. And although the Spartans still had some penalties, they improved and will continue to work on this area.
